Achi Association USA: 25 Years of Transformative Impact

Achi Association USA marked its Silver Jubilee on September 2, 2025, commemorating 25 years of service as a nonprofit organization dedicated to community development and global outreach.

Building Foundations for the Future

Founded on September 2, 2000, and granted 501(c)(3) status in 2001, Achi Association USA began with a clear mission: to improve quality of life through sustainable, community-centered initiatives. Early priorities included education, sanitation, and health. In support of educational access, the Association built two elementary schools in the Achi Mbieri community (Ezi Autonomous Community, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, Nigeria). These schools continue to serve as vital centers of learning and opportunity for children in the region.

Clean Water: A Lifeline Collaboration

Partnerships have been central to Achi Association USAs impact. With support from the Walla Walla Rotary Club and Rotary District 5080, the Association implemented a community water project to expand access to safe and reliable drinking water. This initiative has strengthened public health outcomes and improved everyday living conditions for families across the community.

A Legacy of Healing

Health services have remained a core focus of Achi Association USA. Since March 2001, the Association has organized free medical outreach programs serving not only its immediate community but also neighboring areas. These efforts have helped address gaps in care by providing essential screenings, treatment, and health education for medically underserved populations.

A recent milestone is the Associations collaboration with the Walla Walla Rotary Club, Rotary District 5080, the Rotary International Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Owerri Central to establish a state-of-the-art medical center. The facility reflects a shared commitment to sustainable healthcare delivery and long-term community well-being.

A Celebration of Legacy and Future

The Silver Jubilee Celebration recognized the Associations 25-year record of service, the partnerships that made its work possible, and the volunteers and supporters who sustained its mission. As Achi Association USA enters its next chapter, it remains committed to advancing education, health, and community development through accountable, collaborative, and impact-driven programs.
